Frequently asked questions

Where can I find Reception?

If you are checking in, please park in the car park signposted from the road and follow the signs from there. If you arrive via canoe, please follow the track round towards the Yurts and go around the building.

Is there a campsite speed limit?

Yes! The campsite speed limit is 5mph. As we are a family campsite, their might be children playing, therefore, a slow speed is essential.

Can I bring a dog?

We welcome well behaved dogs and they must be kept on a lead whilst on site at all times. There are local footpaths where they can be walked.

Are there pitches?

We operate on a first come first serve basis and cannot reserve pitches. We can guarantee that if you are camping with friends you can be camped all together either in the Orchard or the Camping fields.

Can I just arrive and set up camp if I can’t find a member of staff?

Unfortunately not. Please book in advance by using our easy to use Booking Form.

Can I have a fire on site?

You may have a camp fire on site. If camped in the orchard, you may have it on the ground but please use a pre existing spot and not burn a new one. If you are camped in the Field, all fires must be raised off the ground. If you do not have your own fire pit, we hire them for £5 per night with a £50 deposit. We sell wood on site in the shop.

How will other members of staff know I have paid my fee?

A wristband will be issued / fitted which indicates your last night of sleep. These must be worn. Any damaged ones can be replaced provided you bring the old one back.

When is considered your quite time?

We consider this to be at 9;30, here all amplified music must be switched off. We consider that those campers who wish to stay around their fire till later will be talking quietly and ensuring those that wish to sleep can do so uninterrupted.

Do you sell food?

Our on site shop sells local produced sausages, bacon and burgers. Sliced bread and rolls, often both frozen. Also dry goods, such as corn and potato chips, canned goods, biscuits and confectionary. Some pharmaceuticals such as pain relief, insect bite relief, sanitary products, soap and teeth cleaning & body wash. We also stock a small variety of gas for cooking stoves.

Where is it permitted and legal to drink alcohol?

Only alcohol purchased on site maybe consumed in the cafe or beer garden. The beer garden is directly outside the cafe and Oak Tree Table, clearly hedged and gated. No alcohol is to be consumed outside the ablution block or dish washing sinks.
